While you are going through the process of planning your big day, there will be a point where you have to pick out the perfect wedding invitation. Although some people may not think that much of the style of wedding invitations, they are key to setting the tone for your entire event. Chances are, your wedding invitation will be the first glimpse that your guests will have as to what type of theme or color scheme you are planning to use for your big day. Many brides actually spend hours picking out just the right invitations to not only fit their style but also their budget.
You always want to be sure that you spell out every word when you are coming up with the text for your invitations. It is deemed to be tacky and improper if you use any abbreviations. For example, you never want to use an abbreviation for words such as avenue, road, street, senior and so on. It has also been known to be proper etiquette to use roman numerals instead of numbers when used in a name, such as using III instead of 3rd. Finally, you want to be sure that you read over your wedding invitations several times before you send it off to the printer, or before you print a large batch off if you are making them yourself. The last thing you want is to notice such a problem after the wedding invitations have already been sent out to your guests.
It is always best that you mail out your wedding invitations no later than six to eight weeks before your event. This type of a timeframe is just right for allowing your guests ample time to respond and make the necessary plans to attend. Also, this gives you enough time as needed to give a head count to the caterer if you are having a formal dinner at the reception. Next, you are going to want to be sure that you have all of the proper wording down when you are selecting the text for your wedding invitations.
