There is no reason why you should feel intimidated if you were thinking about throwing your wedding in your backyard. You could hold a completely amazing wedding as long as you put a little bit of thought into it. Just imagine how much money that you would be able to save by not having to pay rental fees at a hall. Either that, or you will be able to put much more of a focus on your catering or entertainment budget with the money that you will be saving.
Consider what the weather will be like on the day that the wedding should be taking place. Even if you hear that the weather is supposed to be perfect on that day, it may be a good idea to put up a tent or two, especially where you will having the food laid out. You may want to check with your catering company when it comes to the tents, because some of them will rent those out as well.
If your event will be heading into the evening hours, you can always light up your backyard area with luminaries or even beautiful Chinese lanterns. Having the tables lit up with candles could also be another wonderful idea that will look gorgeous when the sun goes down. Depending on the style or theme of your wedding, another great way to light up the night are tiki torches placed strategically around the reception area. You can also get citronella oil for these torches so that you will not have to worry about too many pesky bugs during your backyard-wedding event.
