If you have been to a good amount of weddings over the past several years, the chances are pretty good that you have seen a couple of colored wedding dresses. Even a bunch of colored wedding dresses can be seen in any of the popular wedding magazines today. Now, this does not have to mean that the dress is a solid color. A bunch of beautiful colored wedding dresses may just have a splash or a slight accent of color.

Many brides who are having a spring wedding may go with the choice of pastel accents, either done with ribbon or beading. A few dress selections have also come about where there are pretty pastel flowers embroidered on the bodice of the wedding dress. When it comes to winter weddings, lots of brides may go with a white dress with deep red or burgundy accents for a beautifully dramatic effect.

You may have also noticed that some brides have been going with the option of solid colored wedding dresses. Purple, red, burgundy, yellow and cobalt blue are actually very popular choices of colors for wedding dresses today. Of course, this is probably due to the fact that it is not the same as it was decades ago where it was deemed only proper for a bride to wear white. Today, a bride can pretty much wear whatever she wants.

If you are getting married sometime soon, go ahead and choose a colored wedding dress if that is what you desire. After all, this is your big day and your dress should be an extension of you and your tastes. If that means having a colored wedding dress, then so be it!
