A Wedding in Sunny Florida

Florida is a great place for destination wedding. The southern state offers nearly every kind of wedding you could think of. You could have a beach wedding, the city wedding, a cruise, Garden ceremony, or even get married at Disney World. From the keys to the panhandle you'll find everything you want here. If you choose to guests join you at your destination-wedding day will certainly appreciate that flights are often very low priced to Florida's hotspots. There are some things you should take into consideration though, when planning a Florida destination wedding. Here are just a few of those things.

It is important to know that you need to avoid spring break destinations like Miami, the keys or Orlando, and most importantly, Daytona Beach during spring break weeks in February and March. These are extremely busy times in this state, and if you could even get anything booked it would be a miracle. Beyond that traffic will be a nightmare and your wedding will be competing with sororities and fraternities having their blowout bashes while you're trying to have your dream wedding.

Every area that a couple could choose for their destination wedding has its own feel. Palm Beach is a great choice for classy ritzy country club style wedding, while the keys offer a tropical laid back atmosphere. Miami is a trendy hotspot, and Orlando is a very popular tourist destination with hotels and theme parks as far as the eye can see. Mar-a-Lago is a great place from extravagant affair, while in Key West; you can have a Margaritaville wedding. Since just about all of these areas are popular convention and business destinations, you should really book your rooms as early as you possibly can.

As with any destination wedding, you'll need to make sure that you meet the marriage requirements for the area you plan to be married in. In Florida couples must obtain a marriage license from any clerk of court. Both parties will need to provide a photo ID. If either person has been divorced or widowed, the date of the divorced or spouse's death will need to be supplied. The marriage license does not need to be issued in the county that the ceremony will take place, and it is valid for 60 days. Florida has a three-day waiting period, or parties wishing to be married, must have taken a state sanctioned marriage preparation course within the last year to avoid the three-day waiting period.
