How Long Should Your Train Be?
Have you decided just how much of a train that you would like to have on your wedding dress? A bridal train is actually the part of your gown that flows behind the bride as she is walking down the eye. With this being said, you may be wondering just how long yours should be, or if you would even like to have one at all.
Many, many years ago, the term actually came from the type of train that would normally follow majestic Kings and Queens. It is said that peacocks, which used to be thought of as a royal bird, is where the initial inspiration of a train came from. For many years after that, it was normally seen as a sign of stature or wealth when a bride walked down the aisle followed by a gorgeous embellished train. Perhaps you have even dreamed of such a train since you were a little girl thinking of your own wedding dress when you grow up.
Today, even though a good number of wedding dresses will have a bridal train, many of them actually do not. This could be due in part to the fact that lots of brides are looking for styles that give them ease of movement. Wedding gowns that do have long trains will have to be bustled in the back in order to move around freely to greet guests and get out on the dance floor.
