Wedding Superstitions
There are hundreds of wedding superstitions out there. Sometimes it's fun to follow superstitions, even if you don't believe in them. Some superstitions simply have touching stories behind them. Here are a few of the most common wedding superstitions.
When a newlywed couple enters their home, wedding superstition holds that the groom should carry the bride over the threshold because if the bride should stumble while entering the home, it is a bad omen. Tying tin cans to the bumper of a newlywed couple's car is good luck, as the noise frightens away evil spirits. It is considered good luck to save the top tier of the wedding cake, and share it on your first anniversary, the wedding superstition holds that it brings luck, but at the very least, it will bring back fond memories of your wedding day.
Wedding superstitions about rain and tears are plentiful. For example, if a bride cries on her wedding day, those shall be the last tears she ever sheds over her marriage. Alternately, the rain is said to bring good luck.
