Why get down and dirty for your own wedding? Let the wedding planner do it!

Don’t be surprised….I’ve seen many of my girlfriends collapse after their weddings. The reason? Not that I want to make fun of them online but apparently, they wanted to organize everything about their own special day themselves. From the wedding cake to the limousine rental. From the hotel bookings to the invitations. Well, you know what? Instead of collapsing after your wedding and spend the honeymoon recovering, why not hire a wedding planner who will deal with all the dirty details for you. Contrary to popular beliefs, wedding planners aren’t really expensive. I have had friends tell me that they had people plan everything about the wedding (right down to the tee) for under $1000….some under $800.

Everything about your wedding, accordingly yours truly, should like a limousine ride….perfectly smooth, sweet, romantic and as memorable as possible. What’s so romantic and memorable about having to deal with every single detail of the wedding yourself. Of course, you can’t let someone decide what wedding dress you should wear on your wedding day but let’s face it, you can definitely discuss with a clear mind with a professional wedding planner without breaking the bank.

And in case you’re wondering if you should REALLY go ahead and hire a wedding planner, here’s a list of what wedding planners usually do…apart from hiring and planning your limousine ride, of course.

  • Booking of your wedding date and time

  • Reserving hotels, rooms

  • Checking out limousines, rates of the limousine rental, compare prices with other limousine charter companies

  • Run the run for you in terms of legal paperwork (which you WILL be thankful for)

  • It depends, some wedding planners actually go around looking for 2 witnesses for you if you can’t find out

  • The wedding planner will usually also help you look for a professional photographer who will take care of all those beautiful pictures you will spend many years thereafter the wedding admiring at

  • Cake cake cake! The wedding planner will probably provide you with a huge catalogue of cakes to choose from. If you want a plastic one….as in a fake one, let them know. Same thing otherwise.

  • During the wedding ceremony, it’s important to fill in the blank and empty spaces with music. THAT and alcohol but the wedding planner should be able to get his or her hands on a good selection of oldies, classical or modern R&B or ballads to play during the wedding.

  • If you have a preferred brand of Champagne, let your wedding planner know. Some wedding planners go with the cheapest – and if that’s not what you want, you’d better get that telephone and give the wedding planner a call.

  • If you want fairytale-like decorations for your weddings (or whatever theme you like), the wedding planner’s job is to find all the perfect decorations to put up at the wedding site. Clarify all this with the wedding planner before she gets into action.

  • On a personal note, let me share a tip with you. A wedding organizer without either a physical or electronic organizer is a big no-no. At least for me because if a wedding organizer is organizing YOUR wedding by scribbling on coasters, you’re probably going to be organizing your own wedding yourself at the end of the day. And you have a hole in your pocket for doing the job too!
