Even dogs, cats, babies…HAMSTERS have their own websites these days – is there a reason why Detroit MI wedding couples should leave off building a website for their own wedding or engagement? No! Absolutely not! In today's world, just about everybody have their own website or blog. Therefore, it struck me as a bit odd when one of my friends said this when I suggested building her own website or blog for her Detroit MI wedding. "What for? Why waste the time and effort to do all of that when no one's going to see it?"

That's strange. I would have thought differently. The purpose of a wedding website is to keep visitors, family and friends informed and involved with the wedding plans. Unless you love getting phone calls around the clock asking for directions around Detroit MI or people asking you what color dress you're wearing on your wedding night or are kids allowed to your wedding, setting up a wedding website is the way to go. People would call you asking you when the bridal shower is, what time they should arrive at the Detroit MI church or did you get their RSVP email all the time – this adds tremendously to the stress of planning your wedding. At the end of the day, you will not be enjoying your wedding AT ALL – it's turns out to be too much of a chore at the end of the day.

By having your own wedding website, all the pictures, information, dates, directions and relevant details and contact can be posted there. If a friend asks you, "What time is….", you answer "Check my website. Everything's there". End of story.

Some people think that creating a wedding website takes a lot of time but frankly, it all depends on how elaborate you want it to be. It could be something simple and based on a template provided by free website hosting companies or blog providers or you could actually purchase your own domain name, find your own hosting, and build your own Detroit MI wedding website from scratch. The latter, frankly speaking, can take up a lot of your time and energy if you're not an expert in the field. If you asked me, I would say going with the free templates from the likes or www.wordpress.com, www.blogger.com, www.typepad.com or even www.bravehost.com would do. After all, they offer pretty much the same thing…only less control.

And if you think that the purpose of the wedding website ends with the Detroit MI wedding, you're pretty wrong about that. What about the photos you took during the wedding, the updates, the honeymoon pictures, the anniversaries, the baby showers?
