Mingei International Museum (San Diego)

You may not believe that the Mingei International Museum in San Diego was built back in 1978 because of how great it looks on the outside but this non-profit institution has been around for more than thirty years. The founder of the museum is Martha Longenecker who was a pottery master craftsman and who went to Japan to further deepen her understanding about the art. She came back inspired enough to found this museum. 

 
The spacious forty one thousand square foot facility organizes regular exhibits and activities centering on pottery, toys, paintings, sculpturing and even jewelry-making; basically, this museum celebrates every artistic form of self expression and they make concerted effort to help budding artists grow in their art.
