Save on headache and money for your wedding day

Everyone wants a beautiful fairytale wedding but let’s face it, not everyone can afford one. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that! The good news is, fairytale weddings, contrary to popular beliefs, don’t have to be expensive. Not always. The wedding can be just as magical if you put a little thought into reducing the cost. Here are some ideas for you to sit on.

Renting the limousine early….REAL early
The more urgent the renting of the wedding limousine, the nearer it is to peak wedding seasons, the more expensive the limousine rental is going to be. So, what a frugal couple can do is to avoid last minute renting of the wedding limousine. Get everything planned out, at least the outline of all the things you need, and get on the phone to iron out some minor details before it gets too near to the wedding date.

Get married off-peak season
Some months are called peak wedding months like end of the year and summer time. So, what you can do is to have your wedding outside of these peak seasons! This is when the rental of the limousine, halls and all other stuff is cheaper. I kid you not; you can save a lot from this alone.

Leaving some people out of the wedding list
Fine, you’re getting married and you want the whole world to know about it and celebrate your union with you. But on the practical side of things, there is very little need to invite ex-colleagues you’ve lost touch with, exes who ditched you for another person, and that estranged uncle. Don’t put everyone into the wedding list. What you should do is to have a preliminary list of IMPORTANT guests and then a second list of LESS IMPORTANT people. If there’s extra space, invite some of those in the second list, otherwise, leave them out.

More is not always better
This applies to wedding decorations and all the pretty little things that people use to decorate the wedding halls and the lawn, the home, the room and stuff. Focus on redefining the small details…like a strawberry or cherry in a glass of champagne. A small addition that makes a big difference to the whole situation!

More ways to save on your wedding
Other things you can do include checking out the corkage charge instead of buying from the restaurant or hotel’s wine list and buying stuff in bulk. Save more money by hiring college students from the hotel and catering department of a nearby college for the food! They’re cheap and most of them are really good.
