Designing your own wedding ring

By the time you’ve got the engagement party over and done with, it’s time to think of the wedding ring. And oh boy, everyone knows the wedding ring is a big thing (as if anything related to a wedding isn’t). Recently, a friend of mine decided to have her wedding ring customized. Yes, as in design it herself and got it customized! It was amazing. Be warned that it can burn a big hole in the bank account but from the looks on the wedding couple’s faces, every cent was well-spent. So, if you have the budget for it, why not bring out the drawing board and start sketching your own wedding ring?

You see, the wedding ring signifies love and eternal partnership and it’s awfully romantic to have it customized. It would be better for the wedding couple to sit down and deliberate over what each of you want and put it into the wedding ring. It would save you a lot if both rings look identical but it’s not uncommon for wedding couples to have ‘complimenting’ wedding rings. You decide. One word of advice, though. When designing your wedding ring, you might feel the urge to overdo it or go with a design that is contemporary. Don’t. Stick to a wedding ring design that won’t go out of style…imagine yourself wearing it as you enter your seventies.

Once you’re done with your sketches, bring the drawings to a jeweler who specializes in making custom jewelry. An ordinary jeweler many not have the tools or expertise to come up with your customized wedding rings. The customized jewelry maker will advice you on how practical or feasible your own wedding ring design is and you can go from there. see? All done.

Wedding rings are so awfully romantic and it is even more meaningful if you have a set of wedding rings that no one else on this planet’s got! Budget-wise, don’t overspend. Set yourself with a budget for the wedding rings and don’t put the credit line too far back. There are may other stuff you’ll have to spend on for the wedding.
