Prom Planning Tips

Planning the prom should be like all other types of planning activities. First of all, on the agenda, you must have FUN FUN FUN planning the prom. This is based on experience, of course, so the committee members that you pick for the prom should be people who like to have fun too. I mean, I just cannot imagine a bunch of people who thinks the prom is a bad idea planning the prom. This is definitely the biggest party of the year…every year, so, although it’s serious business (because you want to things to go right) it should be done and planned with a lot of fun and smart thinking as well.

That the why the first thing you should look at when you’re heading or part of the prom planning committee. You should look at the people you’re recruiting for the job. Obviously, you want someone you are friends with but if your friends are not good planners, pick those whom you know you will have a fun time working with, is responsible and can handle a few wisecracks from you once in a while. Another thing to remember is that people who are already heading one club or another are probably too busy to get involved in the prom planning progress, so, pick someone who’s got a little bit more time on his or her side.

The leader cannot get everything done and no plan should be done this way. The best thing to do is to assign a leader for each part of the prom planning process. At meetings, the leader’s job is to deliberate and decide….not argue. So, you have to find someone who’s good at something or knows people within the industry. For example, if Harry’s father is a limousine rental company owner, then he’d be in charge of transportation and limousine rental for the night. It makes sense, right?

When you’re organizing or planning a prom, a meeting doesn’t have to be strictly a meeting. That’s boring and that’s so old fashioned. The way to meet up to discuss the prom planning issues, go to Starbucks for coffee or maybe organize a mini BBQ at the park or perhaps you could discuss it after a bowling session or something. Get everyone in the ‘fun’ mood so that we can work closely together without wanting to dig anyone’s eyeballs out in the process.

Have fun!
