Budgeting For Prom Venue In Hartford CT

While there are a fair number of venues for a prom in Hartford, the owners can rake up the extra bucks during prom season. And that includes hotel ballrooms too. Sure, a ballroom is good. With increased security, antique furniture, designer painting and top-of-the-line furniture and equipment, one would have to question the need for all the fanfare. Can you do without the stage? Most hotel ballroom rental packages come with meals too and that would be another concern. Think about affordability. Can the committee afford the price of renting a hotel ballroom? Can the students afford it?

You can still have a fantastic prom in community halls. Glamor? Renting a good prom limo from a reliable Hartford CT party bus limousine rental company will give you the glitz and glamor already, won't it? Places like the Cornerstone Aquatics Center has a hall you can rent for a nice prom. And the Children's Museum doesn't sound as cool but they have a hall that can fit up to 400 people and it is conveniently located along Trout Brook Dr. For something a little smaller, give the Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center a shot. Their hall, it has been said, it fit for up to 175 people. Along Bloomfield Ave, there's a place called Gray Conference Center which has a hall made befitting for a 558 strong crowd.

Most of these banquet or community halls are relatively cheap and well-maintained. With a good committee putting their heads together, the little details can be added to turn a plan hall with dark walls into a place for glamor partying.

Where budget is a concern, always make the effort to check around for the best price. List it down in a MS Excel worksheet together with addresses, telephone numbers, email address, and a note for the sake of comparing later on. Although I am not saying that students can't do some really good price negotiations on their own but I strongly encourage such negotiations to be done in the presence of or after discussing it with a teacher or a grown-up. Grown-ups and teachers can share their experience, knowledge, dispense with some secret know-how on how to handle people so that the students can get a better deal at the end of the day.

In fact, here's a little tip from me, Lady Limelight. If you really fancy using the hall again within the same year, talk to the owner about giving you an EXTRA special rate for repeated use of their hall. Some schools have junior and senior proms separately. How about celebrating teacher's day here too? Some hall owners give special discounts if you pre-booked for these events.

So there. Happy prom venue hunting!
