Since when are limousines and bachelor parties associated with each other?
It was a hot evening a couple of nights ago and after dinner, I sat around in the cafe with a glass of wine in hand and watching people go about their business. Behind, the sun peeked out from behind gray clouds and then suddenly, we heard loud laughing piercing through the still of the night. It was a bachelor party limousine rolling by with a bunch of guys hanging their heads out of rolled down windows having the time of their lives. Apparently, this bunch of guys was having a bachelor party and from the looks of it, they were going at it full force. You know the moment you see guys get wasted early in the evening and behaving in a boisterous behavior riding around in a limousine, there's a bachelor party going on somewhere.
Then my friend turns around and asks me, “Why are limousines associated with bachelor parties when people usually rent a limousine for something grand like a wedding or....Academy Awards?” Well, weddings and bachelor/bachelorette parties started using limousines for their parties when they realize that the only way to make the bachelor/bachelorette party memorable and grand is to hire a rental limousine. And people saw, people liked the idea and soon the number of people who rent limousines for their weddings and bachelor/bachelorette party doubled!
Many times, it's the grand-ness of riding around in a limousine that drove people to rent one for their event. You don't get to ride one very often if you're like me, so, when a special day rolls around, they do something a little different. PLUS, renting a luxury limousine these days is not expensive at all because there's fierce competition in the industry, therefore, the rental price for limousines has been dropping. Now, even common folks like you and me can afford to rent a limousine for our parties and celebrations.
So, instead of driving yourself around on the bachelor/bachelorette party, it makes sense to let the professionals do the driving while you focus on....humiliating that soon-to-be married friend of yours!
