Putting the icing on the wedding cake – wedding cake ideas you can use

To my dismay, I recently discovered that a lot of wedding couples use plastic make-belief cakes for their weddings! To me, one should always try to use the real thing during the wedding dinner. The wedding cake, like the wedding dress, is part of the magical part of getting married. What’s the point of having a plastic wedding cake that you can’t share with everyone on the wedding night? Might as well not have a wedding cake at all! And they’re so pretty…..who can resist it?! Instead of ordering the conventional types of wedding cakes, here are some wedding cake examples and ideas that you can use. Just the thing to spice things up during the wedding…guaranteed!!

Cute little cupcake wedding cake
Imagine…instead of the conventional calory-ladden wedding cake, why not go for something cuter, cheaper and very much more original….the cupcake wedding cake! Some wedding cake suppliers have a wide variety of cupcake wedding cakes that you can browse through. When arranged all in a circular fashion layer by layer, it really tickles the palate!!

Novelty Wedding Cake
OK, take the cream out of the wedding cake and add color to it instead. Yes, I know, novelty wedding cakes are so much more expensive and smaller too…but hey, no one’s really into actually EATING the cake. The most important part of the wedding cake is the way it looks. And you can choose your own theme too. Most wedding cake suppliers will have a brochure for you to look through. If you pick from their brochure, you don’t need to pay extra for the mould to be made all over again. !

Simple chocolate wedding cake
I am not talking about the brown kind of chocolate wedding cake because sit up and note down…chocolate comes in many colors these days. This is a case of simplicity going hand-in-hand with classiness and practicality. Just about anyone loves chocolate, it looks simple and yet it’s classy. Definitely a winner! Much more so when you top it with a fresh orchid or any flower of your choice!
