Color coding yourself – wedding, prom and bachelor/bachelorette party
When it comes to fashion, I’ll be the first to admit that you’ve got to dress for success but apart from the designer brand and the design of the accessories, you’ve got to think about one other thing before the wedding day, prom or bachelor or bachelorette party…color coding yourself. Most of us know what color suits us best. Some look good in pink (which is not a popular color for a wedding, prom or bachelor or bachelorette party) but are left with not many choices as far as clothes are concerned.
Most of us will go for black since black is the kind of color made for just about anyone. There’s just one problem with the color black. Black isn’t for a wedding while it’s too common for a prom. Black is also too dull for bachelor or bachelorette party since it’s going to be dark and everyone else is going to be wearing black there….so, you know, you’re just going to blend in with the darkness at the end of the day!
Red is a color you can choose and thankfully, red is the kind of color that brings out the best in a lot of people. Think about it….but red is a little too glaring for a wedding party and besides, people might start accusing you of trying to steal the limelight from the bride and groom are the official stars of the wedding. Red is good for the prom, though but since it’s a popular color as well, you will find a lot of people trying to wear red to the prom too. Wearing red to the prom is a SMASHING good idea!
Dark blue and grey are kinda out for a bachelor or bachelorette party and prom because it’s too….er….office-like. People wear dark blue blazers and suits to work, not to a party, after all. To stand out without stealing the limelight from the wedding couple, try going for an uncommon color….say, like light orange, beige, purple, fuchsia or maybe even emerald green. These are colors that can make you stand out at the wedding, prom or bachelor or bachelorette party without making you look like a Hollywood-star wannabe.
