OK, I believe a lot of people don’t have the kind of budget to hire professional entertainers, but if that is the case, you should at least consider renting a karaoke machine, plugging it to the venue and let the party guests entertain themselves during your wedding! It’s fun and helps make the atmosphere livelier at the same time. Oh, and it saves cost too!

For one, you can hire a string quartet which makes for a classy and very groovy kind of wedding entertainment. It keeps everyone entertained with classical music without disrupting dinner and drinks. Folk singers are popular choice of wedding entertainment as well but it all depends on your crowd and what you, the bride and groom, like. Sometimes, wedding couples hire wedding classical guitarist…a one-man-band who strums along during your wedding and sings at the same time. That’s not very expensive.

If you have the money for it, you can go for a gospel choir or an opera singer. A gospel choir can be a little heavy on the pocket but if your family members are strong Christians, this makes for the perfect wedding entertainment. Harpists and swing bands aren’t that popular but they’re different. For couples who want something a little out of the norm, hire them. A disco DJ can be hired separately from your wedding package. Some hotels offer you a free DJ with their wedding packages….if you are particular about the kind of music they play during your wedding, a Disco DJ can be hired to come in and play the appropriate music during dinner time and then pick up the pace towards the end to get everyone moving and groovin’.

One more thing, if you intend to include kids during your wedding, consider hiring childminders and also clowns….that should keep the kids entertained long enough for the reception to take place!
