How Far Should You Go With Your Wedding Hair And Makeup
First of all, before I launch into the whole makeup and hair thing for your wedding, I have to get this off my chest. Your wedding hairstyle and makeup should always be natural enough so that you don’t feel as if you’re someone else…well, not completely anyway. It’s true that you should make an effort to look YOUR BEST and very elegantly different but many people forget that they should feel BEAUTIFUL and CONFIDENT with the makeup and hairstyle that they choose for their wedding. Whether it’s hair extensions that you choose to go for or shiny-shimmery makeup that makes your face glow (in the dark), you should feel good about walking around and taking pictures in them.
Your makeup and hair style reflect an elegant YOU…not someone else.
It’s completely understandable if you want to try something new or perfects do something EXTRA EXTRA special for your wedding and if this is the case, what I strongly urge you to do is to set an appointment with your makeup artist and hair stylist for a pre-wedding ‘rehearsal’. This is the time for you to try out all the different ideas you have about your makeup and hairstyle. To make the pre-wedding try-out more effective, bring along whatever you have on hand, like the veil, your flowers, etc so that you can basically see how they all blend in together. You might be carrying a pink and yellow bouquet of flowers on your wedding night and if you’re going for the purple/blue combo makeup deal there….it could clash.
Some wedding couples might have that extra budget for personal care and stuff so if that sounds like you, you can have your whole entourage fixed up too for your wedding! If not, well, they could all go Dutch. I am sure most of them won’t mind spending a little bit to look beautiful for your wedding….in fact, some of them might even be waiting for the chance to pretty up for a night!
