How To Be Different For Your Wedding

Tuesday, April 1. 2008

After organizing and attending so many weddings during this lifetime, it gets boring. Now, this is not the kind of admission you would expect from Lady Limelight who thrives and feeds on anything even remotely fun and merry! But today, I want to share some ideas with you – wedding ideas and tips that could make your wedding a little bit more different and memorable.

Let the stars determine your wedding date
Those familiar with the Asian culture will know that couples often let the stars decide when is an auspicious day to get married! In order to do this, you would have to plan your wedding well in advance because in order to book the ballroom on that date with the reception place. In Asia, couples would engage the services of a priest, fortune-teller or astrologist; you can do the same thing! I mean, even if you don’t believe in such stuff, it is more fun. You can also place emphasis on the date during the wedding and in your wedding invitations just to give it a little bit of twist.

Wedding Groom Gift Set Dilemma

Thursday, March 27. 2008

If you are having problems choosing your wedding groom gift set, you’ve come to the right place! while the brides have it easier with their wide range of choices, the guys always seem to have a bigger problem choosing the right wedding groom gift set and confess to facing a dilemma on it. You want something with less flair (as compared to the bride’s) without being boring. How about personalizing beer mugs or pitchers if you have a group of friends who are hard core drinkers? A lot of companies and websites offer this service now, for a reasonable fee. And it’s not a normal beer mug either because when you personalize it for your wedding, people will not only remember the wedding, they’ll remember you as a person as well. I know many guys think that all this groom gifts thing for the wedding is totally girly and many would leave it to their future wives but trust me, if you play a hand in deciding what to use as your wedding grooms gifts, it becomes that much more personal and memorable.

Two Left Feet and a Wedding - Take dance lessons before your wedding

Tuesday, March 4. 2008

Although a wedding is, essentially, a princess-y affair for the bride and a knightly one for the groom, at certain point during your Houston TX wedding, after you alight from the grand limousine you rented for the wedding, you’re expected to boogey it on out with the rest of the guests. Well, you can say ‘no’ if you want but I don’t reckon you should. And it’s a pain for people who have two left feet and have a wedding creeping up.

A wedding in Houston TX is very unique and special because of the culture. But Texans love to drink, dance and get dirty on the dance floor, which is intimidating for folks with very little experience with taking the stage….yes, even if it’s their very own wedding! But worry not because Lady Limelight thinks that if you have three months to go before you wedding rolls around, you can still find yourself a nice little dance studio in Houston and take up a short dance lessons. You probably won’t be Paula Abdul but at the very least, you know there are four beats to a bar and you’re not supposed to step on your partner’s feet.

Trying to find a gift for your groomsmen friends as a Thank-You gift

Monday, January 21. 2008

Saying ‘thank you’ doesn’t have to be expensive. All you need is a little bit of creativity and maybe a little effort in trying to find the right groomsmen gifts to give to your friends to show them how much you appreciate their effort in being a part of your wedding. It’s not easy committing so much time to your wedding, your bachelor party and everything else in between. I mean, a wedding could be a new start for you but for the people like your best-friend or others who are part of your groomsmen team, it’s more than just a limousine ride. Therefore, I personally recommend that you set aside a little bit of the budget to rewards your groomsmen…..apart from the drinks. One can only drink so much!

Having the right ride for your wedding is important – we can’t emphasize enough on that one! This is a once-in-your-lifetime (hopefully) thing therefore, you should never scrounge on the wedding limousine ride. But here comes the problem. There are so many different types of wedding limousines out there for you to choose from in the market, which ride is the right one? Lady Limelight thinks that when it comes down to choosing the right limo for a wedding, they can all be divided into three different types of limos and here they are!

The Groom’s Job – Countdown To The Wedding

Wednesday, January 2. 2008

It takes two to tango….suffice to say, it takes two to make a wedding a successful one! Although the focus is always on the bride as far as wedding is concerned, don’t let yourself feel left out – it’s YOUR wedding too! It won’t help if you let the bride do all the work and worrying. Spend some time thinking of things that will make your wedding as memorable for you too. Most people assume that men associate their own weddings to having a root canal done – but as far as I know and as far as I’ve checked, most of my friends are happy and anxious about their own weddings as well. Think and plan carefully together with your bride before the day approaches, ok?

How Far Should You Go With Your Wedding Hair And Makeup

Monday, December 31. 2007

First of all, before I launch into the whole makeup and hair thing for your wedding, I have to get this off my chest. Your wedding hairstyle and makeup should always be natural enough so that you don’t feel as if you’re someone else…well, not completely anyway. It’s true that you should make an effort to look YOUR BEST and very elegantly different but many people forget that they should feel BEAUTIFUL and CONFIDENT with the makeup and hairstyle that they choose for their wedding. Whether it’s hair extensions that you choose to go for or shiny-shimmery makeup that makes your face glow (in the dark), you should feel good about walking around and taking pictures in them.

Your makeup and hair style reflect an elegant YOU…not someone else.

A Wishing Tree At Your Wedding Reception

Monday, December 24. 2007

Guest books are totally boring! It’s so YESTERDAY. For a wedding couple who are looking for something less conventional, something a little more unique for their special wedding day, here’s an idea that could give your wedding a lift. Instead of having a guestbook where your wedding guests who arrives signs well-wishing messages in, why not hand out little small cute, greeting cards specially printed for your wedding, ask the wedding guests to write a message inside the card and then hang the card on a wishing tree.

If you’re having a lot of wedding guests from out of town, trying to get the guests settled into a nice little hotel can be quite a headache!
