Wedding Day Beauty Plan

Friday, December 14. 2007

Getting beautiful is not an overnight thing and if you wait till a week to get that ready-to-be-married look of the year, you’re in for a unpleasant surprise. You see, beauty starts from within and unfortunately for us, our body don’t work the way the digital world work….things don’t just go KAZZOOOM inside there. So, in order to get a overhaul of your look, you need to spend at least 4 months working on the way you look and the way you feel! Ideally, six months should be spend pampering yourself, testing out new hairstyles, getting that hair rebonding done, pedicure and manicure and not forgetting the facials and massages.

Monday, December 10. 2007

You cannot have a wedding reception without entertainment! OK, I believe a lot of people don’t have the kind of budget to hire professional entertainers, but if that is the case, you should at least consider renting a karaoke machine, plugging it to the venue and let the party guests entertain themselves during your wedding! It’s fun and helps make the atmosphere livelier at the same time. Oh, and it saves cost too!

Fun facts about a wedding

Wednesday, November 28. 2007

Here are some fun facts about a wedding to get you going. I know planning a wedding can be a tiresome affair because you want everything to be perfectly magical. But relax a little and continue reading because you might learn something new about weddings here.

A wedding cannot be a wedding without a Best Man. The best man and the bridesmaid are totally necessary for a wedding, for me at least, although some wedding couples go ahead without the best man and bridesmaid for their own reason. But if you had a choice, pick one of your best friends (or some of them) as your best man or best men. He is the one who walks down the aisle with the bridesmaid, stands by the wedding groom with the wedding ring and signs on your marriage certificate as your witness. The best man is also the first person who offers a toast to the wedding bride and groom.

Things to avoid the night before your wedding

Monday, November 19. 2007

Many people can give you lots of advice about what to do the night before you wedding but don’t forget that there are many things that you SHOULDN’T do the night before your wedding. And I have a couple of my own here and I’ll share them with you.

Technically speaking, we should be spending the night before our wedding away from our future spouse. This is going to be your last night as a single and it’s time to go ALL OUT and get wild. But when it comes to going wild, it is way too easy to get into an argument with your partner. Hey, he wants a stripper, you can’t bear the thought of another girl dancing up to your future partner and you feel like giving him an earful, don’t you? Well, bite your tongue because you don’t need an argument on the night before the wedding. Listen, it’s best to just let things be if you want your wedding to go as planned and you don’t want to go through the whole ceremony hanging off his arm with swollen eyes.

Putting the icing on the wedding cake – wedding cake ideas you can use

Friday, November 9. 2007

To my dismay, I recently discovered that a lot of wedding couples use plastic make-belief cakes for their weddings! To me, one should always try to use the real thing during the wedding dinner. The wedding cake, like the wedding dress, is part of the magical part of getting married. What’s the point of having a plastic wedding cake that you can’t share with everyone on the wedding night? Might as well not have a wedding cake at all! And they’re so pretty…..who can resist it?! Instead of ordering the conventional types of wedding cakes, here are some wedding cake examples and ideas that you can use. Just the thing to spice things up during the wedding…guaranteed!!

Should kids be allowed at a wedding?

Thursday, November 8. 2007

Many people have asked me this question before and I always tell them the same thing...the question is this. ‘Should we allow kids or young children to come to the wedding?’ Some of your friends may already be married and have kids of their own, you see. My answer is – it depends. Whilst there is totally nothing wrong with having kids at a wedding dinner and reception, some people prefer to keep the atmosphere romantic and quiet throughout the wedding. Having kids there might spoil the atmosphere. It's hardly romantic to find a 3-year-old toddler kicking up a fuss in the middle of the aisle when you're ready walk down the aisle looking like a princess out of a fairytale!

Hiring an entertainer in NYC for your wedding dinner

Monday, November 5. 2007

I’ve been to some wedding dinners without entertainment before and sad to say, the wedding dinners were absurdly lackluster and monotonous (hopefully none of the brides and grooms are reading this, though). Anyway, in my personal opinion, hiring a wedding singer or a band to perform during the wedding dinner is one of the most important things to consider. I mean, you have the fancy and glamorous luxury limousine hired, why not squeeze a band or a wedding singer into the budget? The entertainment during a wedding dinner helps maintain the romantic mood all throughout the dinner when people who hardly know each other (but seated together) run out of questions to ask each other. Music, like they always say, is a powerful tool and in this case, entertainment during the wedding dinner helps create the atmosphere.
