An Aquatic Experience at The New England Aquarium, Boston

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be near the fishes, the seals, the penguins, or even the sharks? Have you ever wished that you could be really up close to them, even if you are not able to touch them? Well, if you love the sea life creatures, you should really take time to visit the New England Aquarium. Located on Central Wharf , Boston , it is a great place to go to have a better understanding of the "underwater world", as well as enjoying some great "shows" at their IMAX ® Theatre! It is the only 3D Theatre in Boston , and was opened in December 2001. Don't make plans to visit the New England Aquarium by yourself, bring along the family! We are pretty sure your kids will have a fantastic time ooh-ing and aahh-ing over the ocean life. And while you are making plans to bring the family, it is sure a good time to do so with a limousine ride too. On top of eliminating parking and traffic problems, the trip will be far more memorable for everyone when they get to ride around in a plush limousine. And besides, why trouble yourself with driving when you can affordably hire someone else to have the headache for you?

A little about The New England Aquarium
The first time that the New England Aquarium opened its doors to the public was back in 1969, on June 20. Its intention was to provide visitors with an underwater experience as well as being a cultural institution that would reconnect Boston to its waterfront. Over the years, they have developed several programs to help preserve and bring a better understanding of the marine life to the locals and tourists. Because they want to give the best to their visitors, the aquarium has been consistently expanding and growing - from the Giant Ocean Tank that was opened in 1970, and being the largest circular, salt water tank in the world at that time, to the new Matthew and Marcia Simons IMAX ®, the only 3D Theatre in Boston (opened in December 2001), the New England Aquarium never ceases to continue its tradition to serve as a leader in research, education and conservation of the sea life.

The New England Aquarium is opened Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm , and on Saturday, from 9am to 6pm .

What's new at the New England Aquarium?
With the recent movie flick on "Happy Feet", everyone's going crazy about penguins, and the New England Aquarium is not spared from the craziness either. More and more people are getting really interested and curious about the life of penguins and the New England Aquarium has just started a brand new theme recently, aptly named - Walk Like a Penguin , giving visitors the chance to explore and learn about what goes on in the world of real penguins. Just what is this Walk Like a Penguin all about? Although the focus on the program is to educate and inform visitors on how penguins walk, the purpose of the program is to highlight the livelihood of a penguin, from the way they eat, swim, raise a family to how their physical attributes.

The penguins at the New England Aquarium are the first animals to greet the visitors when they enter, with about 150,000-gallon penguin exhibit that takes up a large part of the first floor. There are three separate penguin colonies - the African penguins, the Rockhopper penguins from South America and the little blue penguins from New Zealand and Australia .

At the new interactive exhibit such as the underwater Penguin Periscope and the Penguin Vocalization Station, you will get to see and hear penguins like you've never before. And the Penguin Light Station allows visitors to move a fish-shaped light image around in the water, where the African penguins will chase it, thinking that it's dinner-time! Isn't it amazing that you not only get to see them up close, but you also get to "play" with them too?

Food at the New England Aquarium
If you have had your fun share of "baiting" the penguins and are feeling hungry yourselves, don't fret. There's a wide array of lunch items such as individual pizzas, hamburgers, sandwiches, salads, wraps, soft drinks, fruit juices, gourmet coffee and light snacks at the Harbor View Café, located just upstairs of the Aquarium's main lobby. Chomp on your meal and enjoy the beautiful view of Boston Harbor and the city skyline at the Harbor View Café.

Don't leave empty handed!
Before you leave the New England Aquarium, head on over to the Aquarium's Gift Shop which is located on the right in the main lobby upon entrance for some gift shopping to bring home with you? They have a large collection of items related to the Aquarium and the water world, including cuddly plush animals such as penguins, seals, sharks, crabs; educational videos, DVDs, CDs, reference books; the Aquarium branded items - clothing to coffee mugs and much more fun items to browse and purchase as gifts or a memento! The Aquarium Gift Shop has something for everyone, from the young to the . well, not-so-young as well!

After a day's trip to the New England Aquarium, you and your family members can now return home in the chauffeured limousine - with of course, a greater understanding of the underwater world, and in this case, the penguins! And while you chat away about the great things you have seen and done at the Aquarium, wouldn't you agree that riding in the limousine is one of the best decision that you have made, because you get to spend quality time with the family, as you are not the one behind the wheels?

To make the evening extra special, bring her flowers too and as you literally whisk her off her feet into the limousine, you can be sure that you have definitely made the right choice chartering the limousine for the evening trip.

After you are in the limousine, tell the driver to take you and your lovely partner to board The Spirit of Boston. Sightseeing in a limousine in Boston

If you only have a day to spare for a short trip, and you do not want to drive, how about booking a limousine for a trip to Boston? Not only would you not have to argue with your friends as to who will be the designated driver, you and your friends are in for a spectacular trip to Boston.

With a hired limousine to Boston, you and your group of friends will not have to worry about anything that has to do with transport. From driving to looking for the place that you want to visit, to parking the vehicle, these are all taken care of by the limousine driver. All you and your group of friends need to do is just sit back, relax and enjoy the trip.

Begin your trip with your limousine friends to the Paul Revere House, the oldest house that can be found in the downtown area. The Paul Revere House dates all the way back to the 17 th century, and between 1770 and 1800, Revere owned this home. It has now become a national history landmark and one of the few remaining from an early era in the history of colonial America. In 1800, Paul Revere sold the home, and soon it became a tenement, and the ground floor was remodeled for use as shops. However, Paul Revere's great-grandson, John P. Reynolds Jr. bought the building back so that it would not be demolished. For the next few years, money was raised and the Paul Revere Memorial Association was formed to preserve and renovate the building. Until today, the Association still oversees the preservation and the everyday operations of this national treasure.

Another great architecture building to see is the Arlington Street Church. Have your limousine driver to bring you over to 351 Boylston St., to view this magnificent building. Today, Arlington Street Church stands as a pristine example of the 19 th century Boston architecture. Its location also makes it a popular spot for wedding ceremonies.

After the visit to the Arlington Street Church, stop over at the Fanueil Hall for some lunch and shopping. It is said to be Boston at its best with more than 100 of the finest shops and carts, with national names and locally owned treasures. From accessories to eyewear to houseware and home furnishings, jewelry, clothes for children and adult, shoes and even toys - there is bound to be something that you or your limousine friends to buy for yourselves or your loved ones.

To wind down after shopping, ask your limousine driver to take you to Ruth's Chris Steak House. They are popular with their steaks, and as their founder, Ruth Fertel used to say, "If you've ever had a filet this good, welcome back." At Ruth's Chris Steak House, you will not find the usual stodgy, uptight attitude that you may find in other steak houses as they encourage their guests to feel free to laugh out loud and have a great time dining at their steak house.

Finally, after a sumptuous dinner, you and your limousine friends can now travel home once again after a great day at Boston in the limousine that you booked for this trip - without any regrets, right?

Boston by Limousine: More Than a Tea Party

You have a US Coachways limousine at your disposal for the duration. Limos make any occasion a grand affair. Or at least a spectacular arrival. Boston by limousine gives you and chance to really see your city, without having to watch the road, dodge amateur stunt drivers or keep an eye peeled (yowch!) for rare, available parking spots. Your professional limousine driver loves that sort of stuff. Let him handle it, while you and your date enjoy Boston by limousine. Only decision is, what to do first. Your limo's ready for anything.

Hungry? Your efficient, friendly and professionally-trained limousine driver may have suggestions or you may have notions of your own. Here are some yummy destinations that this writer heartily endorses: Franklin Cafe at 278 Shawmut Avenue. Aim your limo toward the Franklin and try not to drool in anticipation of fabulous and world-class contemporary fare.

If seafood is what you crave, your limousine can easily deliver you to the Union Oyster House at 41 Union Street on the Freedom Trail. On a busy night, some three thousand oysters are shucked and served up here. If early American history is your thing, Union Oyster House will delight you completely. Your limousine will be waiting when you're ready to continue into the night.

Whether this extra-special limousine-night is because you're entertaining out-of-town guests or recreating an (at least somewhat) authentic recreation of a historical Boston dinner for yourself, once in a while, every Bostonian must eat the Baked Bean. To that end (see if your limo driver agrees) try The Federalist, located at 15 Beacon Street. Reservations can be made at 617-670-2515 and your limousine will deliver you to their door exactly on time. The Federalist specializes in sophisticated American cuisine and the occasional tricorn hat.

Surely, hitting the local eateries isn't all you'll be wanting to do while you have a limousine at your disposal. Dancing may well be in order-- Ask your limo driver to take you to The Place at 2 Broad Street in Boston. There's always something going on at The Place, dancing every night with DJ Chris Roxx. If it's not really what you have in mind, limo around to the Avalon at 15 Landowne Street. Different night have different kinds of dance; call ahead at 617.437.7147 to see if they have a DJ or a live band on your special limousine evening.

Boston has plenty of traditional Irish pubs and your limo driver may know of several. If not, simply tell him to take you to Mr. Dooley's at 77 Broad Street, Boston. Voted 2005's Best Irish Pub by The Improper Bostonian, your limousine will patiently await while you throw darts, listen to lively Irish music or dance a jig.

Another lively Irish tavern, The Green Dragon Tavern at 11 Marshall Street has it all. Historically significant, the Dragon is in a wonderful old building and your limousine will take you directly to the door. On certain nights, you're likely to run into Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin and other notable Boston historical personalities. Always entertaining, a visit to The Green Dragon will not soon be forgotten.

As your evening winds down, ask your limousine driver take you and yours the slow way around the harbor. A limo is the ideal way to enjoy the view, toasty warm inside and in complete luxury. Boston Harbor, when seen from a limousine, glistens just a bit brighter. Hiring a US Coachways limo for an evening --or an entire night-- is always a brilliant idea. Limousines are statistically one of the safest methods of getting around Boston. Reserve one now and have limousine dreams until the day. And then forever after.
