Planning a Limousine Rental in West Virginia?

West Virginia Limousine Excursion

If you want to explore West Virginia with some friends, you simply must do it in the comfort and luxurious style of a limousine. History and nature buffs alike will be pleased with a trip to West Virginia.

The top historical attraction in the state is Harpers Ferry National Historic Park. The park's 2,300 acres actually cover three states, but the primary historic sites are in West Virginia in the historic town of Harpers Ferry. This is where abolitionist John Brown launched a raid of the federal arsenal (which supplied guns for Lewis and Clark's famous expedition), as an attack on slavery. It was also here that Stonewall Jackson secured the largest surrender of Union troops (over 12,000 of them) during the Civil War. The town still looks just as it did in the 19th century, and several of the historic buildings are open to the public. There are lots of quaint shops and restaurants here as well.

Next take your limousine crew back to the limousine, and head to historic Berkeley Springs. This is a quirky town that's a haven for artists, and where massage therapists outnumber lawyers 3 to 1. George Washington was among the first of many visitors who came to "take the waters" at the first spa town in the country. Today it's still a popular place to kick back and relax, and you and your limousine buddies are sure to enjoy it as well. Berkeley Springs Historic State Park is still a working mineral spa today. The park's bathhouse opened in 1930. You and your limousine crew can luxuriate in the Roman-style baths or take advantage of the health treatments. Once you've soaked and relaxed, browse the town's many art galleries and antiques shops.

If your limousine buddies are more of a scientific nature visit the state's Potomac Highlands region, which is the home of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory. This observatory houses the largest radio telescope in the world. You will also find exhibits dealing with radio waves and space exploration. Daily tours are offered of this facility during the summer.

As far as outdoor recreation is concerned, West Virginia offers more activities and opportunities than most outdoor enthusiasts can hope to take advantage of. There are more than three million visitors each year who come to take advantage of some of the best wildlife viewing, mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding in the state. Consider visiting the Monongahela National Forest for these activities with your limousine crew.

Civil War buffs in your limousine crew might like to drive to the park's auto tour, which features stops at historic sites like Fort Summit and Camp Allegheny. Make sure to stop the limousine at the park's Seneca Rocks Discover Center. This center at the base of the exceptionally scenic Seneca Rocks cliffs attracts rock climbers from all parts of the country.

There are two state parks that you can take your limousine crew to just north of the National Forest. Canaan Valley Resort and Backwater Falls State Park offer fabulous cross country and downhill skiing in the winter time, as well as first class mountain biking and hiking trails in the summer time. The best of skiing trails and superb mountain biking trails can be found at Snowshoe Mountain, which is an 11000-acre resort located in the Allegheny Mountains.
